Environmental graphics powered by the sun. The panels were illustrated to tell the story of Beehive Distilling and create a sense of place. They can be viewed at the Beehive Distilling Bar in South Salt Lake City.
Utah is known as the beehive state thanks to Brigham Young. He and the Mormon pioneers of the 1840s related to how bee colonies survived and prospered. The beehive represents the settlers and their dedication to community, industry, and hard work.
Steeped in history, shrouded in mystery, the Joseph Smith Sphinx is the iconic Utah sculpture that remains hidden in his creators backyard.
The English language has pronunciation issues. Brilliantly, the early mormon pioneers created the Deseret alphabet to solve the issue. The phonemic spelling of English words was meant to make learning English easier. Ultimately, the mono height characters proved difficult to read, dooming its adaptation.
